A quiet corner at the library in Springfield made me rethink my whole journaling setup
I was at the downtown library last Tuesday looking for a quiet spot to write. In the reading room, I saw three different people using those big, chunky fountain pens on thick paper notebooks. One person even had a whole leather case with different colored inks. It got me thinking, when did writing by hand become such a deliberate, almost fancy activity? I always just grab a ballpoint and whatever scrap paper is around. Has anyone else switched to a nicer pen and actually stuck with it?

Just get one decent pen you won't cry over losing.

Absolutely, my favorite pen got left in a hotel and it still stings.

My grandpa gave me a Parker Jotter when I was 16, and I've kept it for 20 years without losing it. The trick is to never let it leave your house, lol. You get a nice pen for the feeling, but you use a basic one for everything else. That way you get the joy without the risk of actually crying in a hotel lobby.
