Am I the only one who gave up fancy journaling for a plain notebook?
I used to spend like 30 bucks on those fancy dotted journals with the thick paper and all the stickers and washi tape. But I got so caught up in making every page look perfect that I stopped actually writing anything down. Last month I grabbed a 99 cent composition notebook from the grocery store and it changed everything. Now I just scribble whatever comes to mind without worrying about messing up a layout. Has anyone else dropped the fancy supplies for something simple?

Did you find yourself actually writing more, or did it just take the pressure off the look of things? I ask because I think a lot of us confuse the hobby of collecting supplies with the act of journaling itself. For me, ditching the fancy stuff definitely helped me get my thoughts down faster without second-guessing every word.

Lol you had me at 'hobby of collecting supplies' - that hit a little too close to home. I've got a drawer full of washi tape I've never even unrolled, and a sticker collection that could fund a small country. But yeah, now I just grab whatever random notebook is lying around and write like a feral raccoon who doesn't care about margins. The irony is my pages are way more readable now because I'm not stopping every two seconds to line things up perfectly.
