Bought a $60 set of wood carving knives on a whim and finally finished my first spoon
I grabbed a basic 12 piece carving set off the clearance table at a craft store in Tulsa about three weeks ago, mostly because I had a scrap of cherry sitting in the garage doing nothing. The first two spoons ended up as firewood, but the third one actually looks like a spoon and I used it to stir my coffee this morning. Does anyone else find that cheap starter tools work fine until you hit one specific step, and then you suddenly get why people spend real money?
