I finally found a fix for my sticky journal glue after 4 ruined notebooks

Honestly, I kept buying those cheap spiral journals and the glue on the spines would melt in my car during summer, leaving pages stuck together. It took me 5 months and ruining 4 notebooks before I tried storing them flat in a tin box with a silica packet. Has anyone else dealt with glue failures, or do you stick to sewn bindings for your daily logs?

Notice how everything's getting cheaper but not better these days, same thing happens with sneakers and even my crew's work boots. Silica packet trick is solid advice though, takes me back to how we used to store our paint samples.
