Rant: My hand-cut dovetails were always loose, but a simple marking trick fixed it.
I thought only power tools could fix my sloppy joints, but scoring the wood with a knife made them snug. Never going back to guessing cuts again.

A similar knife trick saved my last tenon project from wobbling.

Knife tricks might stop wobbling for now, but they're not a solid fix. A shaky tenon often means the joint wasn't cut right in the first place. How do you get a clean fit without relying on shortcuts?

Saved it from wobbling this time, but will it hold up next time @the_lee?
