Struggled through a whole week of woodworking and nothing went right

Last Tuesday I tried to cut dovetails by hand for a small box I'm making. I messed up the first joint and had to start over twice. Then my chisel slipped and gouged the side piece I had already sanded for 20 minutes. By Friday I had three projects with mistakes I couldn't fix and just set them aside in the corner. Has anyone else had a week where every cut seemed to go wrong?

Woah, twelve practice cuts? I'd lose my mind before I even got to number five. That's some next level patience right there.

Grabbed a scrap piece and burned through a dozen practice cuts, that fixed my headspace.

Twelve practice cuts on one scrap piece? That is some serious dedication, @tylerj22. I would have given up and just started on the real project after maybe three, even if it meant messing up. My own version of this would be burning through a pack of blades on knotty pine and still having a jagged edge. You must have the patience of a saint to sandbag that many test runs.
