That time I ignored the grain direction on a cherry board and my dovetails looked like a mess
I was in my basement shop last Saturday working on a jewelry box for my sister, took a shortcut and cut the tails against the grain, ended up with half a joint crumbling out and had to scrap the whole side panel - do you power through mistakes like that or step back and start over when the wood fights back?

Is a jewelry box really worth getting worked up over?

People can get attached to the strangest things, you know? It's not always about the object itself, sometimes it's the memories or the person who gave it to you. If that jewelry box holds a lot of meaning for them, then yeah, it's worth getting upset over. I've seen friends get really torn up over losing little trinkets that seemed like nothing to anyone else. It's their story, their feelings, and nobody else gets to decide what matters.

lol yeah that hits home. I had this old leather wallet my dad gave me before he passed. It was falling apart and honestly ugly as hell but I got super upset when I thought I lost it at a bar one time. Turned out it was just in my jacket pocket but man I was ready to flip tables over that thing. People don't get it unless they've got something like that themselves.
