The canvas tote I sewed myself failed on bus #14 in 3 weeks
I spent a whole Saturday hand-stitching a tote from some sturdy canvas I found at a garage sale near my place in Madison. The bottom seam gave out under a load of library books, which I thought was bad luck until I checked the thread I used and saw it was cheap stuff from a dollar bin. Does anyone here stick to a specific thread brand for heavy duty projects, or do you just double up on whatever you have on hand?

Sucks when cheap thread ruins good work. Coats and Clark holds up fine for me.
