Thought knitting looms were for kids until my hands gave out on 12 inch needles
My right thumb started locking up after about 45 minutes of knitting last month, so I dug out this plastic loom that came in a $6 thrift bag from a church sale in Spokane and figured it was a toy. Well, three weeks later I've cranked out two hats and a scarf on it while watching the birds, and my thumb has stopped complaining completely. The funny part is the first hat took me 5 hours because I kept hooking the wrong peg, and the second one took 90 minutes once I quit fighting it. The stitches look way better than I expected too, not that lumpy craft fair stuff I pictured. I still feel a little silly holding a plastic hoop instead of real needles, but my hands don't care about my pride. Has anyone here tried the round vs long looms, and which one do you actually reach for?
