Vent: I let my project journal go for 3 weeks and now I can't read my own handwriting
I keep a paper log for every woodworking build, and back in early March I got lazy and skipped writing anything down for 3 weeks during a big oak shelf job in my garage. When I finally sat down to catch up, I had no clue why I had cut one board at 14 and 3/8 inches or which of my two chisels I had sharpened last. I ended up re-measuring a whole stack of stock because my notes just said "trim later" with no numbers. Lost about 2 hours on a Saturday morning, which is not huge, but it stung. The worst part is my own handwriting turned into scribbles by day 4 of the gap, so half the page is useless. Now I write 2 lines at the end of each session, even if it's just the date and what tool I left on the bench. How do you all keep your shop notes straight when a project drags on for weeks?
