Warning: my jigsaw blade snapped mid-curve on a walnut shelf and I'm not sure the grain was the problem
Halfway through a 3/4 inch walnut shelf in my garage on Sunday, the blade snapped and kicked back hard enough to dent the workbench. My shop buddy says I pushed the saw too fast through the curve, but I think the wood was just fighting me the whole way. Am I wrong to blame the grain here, or is this one of those things you just learn by feel?
