Dude at the camera shop in Reno told me my bulk loaded film was "wasting my time"
I was picking up a roll of HP5 last Tuesday and the guy behind the counter saw my reloadable cassette and told me I was wasting my time and that nobody does that anymore. He said the savings per roll were not worth the scratches and I should just buy factory rolls like a normal person. I ran 8 rolls through my Pentax last month and only one had a scratch, so is he right that I am just being stubborn, or should I keep rolling my own?
8 rolls and only 1 scratch is a solid rate, that guy is out of his mind. I've had factory rolls come out of the box with a scratch, so his whole "just buy normal rolls" line falls apart right there. The camera shop in Reno should be happy someone is still shooting film at all instead of giving you a hard time about how you load it. Sounds like he just wanted to sell you marked up HP5 and got annoyed you found a cheaper way. Keep rolling your own, one bad roll out of eight is nothing.
