Hit 100 rolls developed at home today. That's a lot of fixer.
Started developing b&w film in my bathroom two years ago. Just counted my negatives and realized I've done 103 rolls. That means I've probably spent over $800 on chemicals and gear if I add it up. Anyone else track their roll count and get surprised?

The whole "tracking stuff" thing extends way beyond film though. Start counting something and you see patterns everywhere. Like how much coffee disappears in a week or how many times you say "sorry" in one day or even how many alarms you snooze before actually getting up. It's kind of the same principle as film developing, you're just building a weird little personal data set that nobody asked for but somehow feels important. Once you get into that habit, everything becomes a little experiment.

Dang, $800? That actually sounds low for 100 rolls honestly. Did you factor in the cost of redoing rolls that came out bad or was that just straight gear and chems?

$800 for 100 rolls of medium format is actually a steal if you're bulk buying Portra or Gold. People act like film is dead but the real cost is just being picky about what you shoot.
