My developing tank lid popped off mid-roll at my kitchen sink

Last night I was agitating a roll of Tri-X in my kitchen and the lid seal gave out, dumping fixer all over the counter and ruising the film. I had to re-shoot the whole roll at a wedding shoot today, anyone else ever have a cheap tank fail on them like that?

Paterson tanks are the worst for that. The little rubber gasket gets old and slips right out. Tape the lid down next time, or just get a steel tank. They never pop off.
