My lab guy said my Portra shots looked "too clean" and it made me rethink my whole dev setup
I dropped off two rolls of Portra 400 at the lab on 9th Street here in Spokane about 10 days ago. The guy behind the counter, Marcus, flipped through my prints and said "these look too clean, you sure you want that?" He meant my negs were flat and boring, no pop. I stood there kinda annoyed for a second, then realized he was right, I'd been playing it safe with my Dilution H times. Now I'm wondering if I should push my next roll a stop and see what happens. Anyone here ever had a lab tech tell you your film looked "too perfect"?
