Picked Kodak Tri-X over Ilford HP5 for a cloudy day shoot and the contrast came out way better than I expected

I was standing at the shop trying to decide between the two and figured Tri-X would handle the flat light better, and the negatives just popped after developing, has anyone else noticed a big difference between those two films for overcast weather?

Oh man, I used to be a total HP5 fanboy for cloudy stuff, swore by it. But I finally caved and tried Tri-X on a gloomy day last fall, and yeah, the contrast was just way more punchy right out of the tank. Totally changed my mind, now I grab Tri-X first for overcast.

Nah, HP5 pushed a stop in cloudy light has way more character than Tri-X ever will.
