Stop fighting your film base curls, embrace the binder clips
For months I struggled with curly 120 film bases that refused to stay flat in the scanner holder. I tried glass plates, weighted books, even tape that left residue on my negatives. Last week I clipped the film strip at both ends to a piece of cardboard before scanning, and the results were dead sharp across all 12 frames from my trip to Portland. Some folks say using binder clips adds pressure stress to the emulsion, but mine came out fine at 3200 dpi. Is the clip trick a legit shortcut or am I just asking for scratched negs down the road? Curious if anyone else has tested this long term or if I should just buy a proper anti-curl sleeve instead.

Binder clips saved my scans too, zero issues after a year.
