Three years back I found a Pentax K1000 at a garage sale for $15

Last week I finally got around to developing the test roll I ran through it, and the shutter is sticking at 1/500. Has anyone else dealt with fixing old K1000 shutters at home, or should I just send it off to a shop in Minneapolis I found online?

Send it to the shop... fifteen bucks is a steal even with repair costs.

Read this and honestly changed my whole view on it. I used to think you were just throwing money away on old stuff like that. But yeah, fifteen bucks for something that can be fixed easy is a no brainer. You end up with a solid piece of gear for way less than new. Makes you wonder why we always jump straight to buying new junk.
