A buddy told me to never skip episode 7 of any anime, and I thought he was being dramatic.

I skipped ahead in an old show last week and missed a major character death that set up the whole next arc. Has anyone else had a friend give advice that turned out to be totally right?

Careful with that buddy, he might have secret anime wisdom powers. I did something similar with Attack on Titan back in the day and spent three episodes wondering why everyone was suddenly so emotional about a character I didn't even remember. Had to backtrack and felt like a total goof for skipping. So yeah, your friend might be onto something, at least until one of those weird filler episodes comes along and you're stuck watching a beach episode.

Is it really that deep though, it's just a cartoon.
