A guy at my local anime club said my top 3 list was 'objectively wrong' and pulled out a spreadsheet
So I'm at the Roseville library anime meetup two Saturdays ago and I mentioned that Cowboy Bebop sits at number 3 for me, and this guy named Dev actually opened a laptop and showed me a tier chart he built with weighted scores for story, animation, and rewatch value. He had 47 shows ranked and told me my list failed the math, which is maybe the funniest way anyone has ever disagreed with me about a cartoon. Has anyone else run into a fan who turns a casual top 5 chat into a peer reviewed study, or is my club just built different?

Wait, 47 shows? With weighted scores? That is genuinely unhinged behavior for a library anime meetup. The part that gets me is him calling your list "objectively wrong" like taste is a math problem you can just solve with a spreadsheet. Cowboy Bebop at number 3 is a totally reasonable spot, and honestly the fact that he pre-built this whole thing before you even said anything tells me he was just waiting for a victim. Some folks never learned that a top 5 list is just a fun thing to argue about over snacks, not a thesis defense.
