Binge-watched 'Attack on Titan' on a flight to Chicago and it clicked

I was on a 4 hour flight last month with no wifi, so I downloaded the whole first season. Somewhere around episode 12 when they're scaling the wall, I finally got why people lose their minds over this show. Anyone else have a random travel moment where an anime just hit different?

Caught the last hour of Evangelion on a bus from London to Manchester once. Something about watching Shinji lose it while passing through grey countryside just made it all click for me. I read somewhere that the isolation of travel actually helps you focus on the emotional beats of a show without all the usual distractions at home. A friend of mine swears by watching anime on trains specifically, says the motion adds to the immersion. For AoT especially, being trapped in a metal tube at 30,000 feet probably mirrors that claustrophobic feeling pretty well. Different settings can really change how a story lands, your mileage may vary but I think there's something to it.

Traveling really does change how you see things. I watched One Punch Man on a packed commuter train once and Saitama's boredom actually made sense in that moment. The motion and the constant passing scenery forces you into the show's world in a weird way. There's something about being in transit that strips away all the normal distractions and leaves you just sitting with the story. What shows have other people tried watching while on the move?
