I finally gave dubs a fair shot after 12 years of sub only, and a hotel TV in Dallas did it
For years I was that guy who would not touch a dub, no exceptions, and I would argue about it online for way too long. Last month I was stuck in a Dallas hotel for 3 nights for work and the only anime on the room TV was dubbed, so I figured why not. I watched 6 episodes of a show I had already seen subbed, and about halfway through I stopped noticing the mouths not matching. The thing that got me was how much more I caught with my eyes on the screen instead of glued to the bottom strip of text. I still lean sub most nights, but I was wrong to write off the whole other side like that. Anyone here flip on this too, and was it one show that did it or just getting older?
