Still not sold on that 'subs vs dubs' debate after what a guy told me at a con

Back at Anime Expo 2019 in Los Angeles, I was waiting in line for a panel when this dude behind me spent 15 minutes lecturing his friend that anyone who watches dubbed is 'not a real fan.' He said it with such confidence, like it was a fact. I asked him if he'd ever watched Cowboy Bebop dubbed, and he admitted he hadn't even seen it yet. Has anyone else run into people who act like their preference is the only right way to enjoy anime?

Maybe it's just me but both subs and dubs have their place depending on what you're watching.
