That one week last July when I binged all of Vinland Saga in 4 days

I was laid up with a bad back and somehow watched 48 episodes straight, and it honestly changed how I think about revenge stories. Has anyone else had a show hit them way harder than they expected?

Tbh that anime wrecked me too, I still think about Canute's speech every single day.

Wait, does anyone else's brain automatically start playing that speech on loop whenever they have to make a big decision? Because I was trying to pick a breakfast cereal yesterday and I literally heard Canute's voice saying "a king must be willing to do what others cannot" as I stared at the Raisin Bran. (I went with the sugary one anyway, probably not what he meant.) Totally feel you on that one, it's like the show just rewired my brain's moral compass or something.

90 percent of my coworkers at the bookstore still bring up that scene every time someone mentions anything about peace or leadership. @the_jennifer, I swear I can't even hear the word "king" without picturing that whole monologue now. One of them even printed out the quote and taped it to the break room fridge. Its been three months and nobody has taken it down. Guess some things just stick with you.
