That 'premium' Crunchyroll tier cost me $80 before I caught on
I signed up for their top plan last year thinking I'd get better streams and early access to new shows. After 3 months of buffering during peak hours and still getting ads on some series, I finally dug into the fine print. Turns out the 'ad-free' promise didn't cover about a third of the catalog. Has anyone else had this problem with streaming services hiding their limitations?

Might just be me but I've had Crunchyroll for like 2 years now on the mid tier and it works fine most of the time. The buffering thing could be your internet or the server location you're connecting to. I run into issues maybe once a month during big show drops but nothing constant. The ad thing is annoying though I'll give you that, some older shows still have spots cause of weird licensing deals from before they merged with Funimation.

Nah @lucasschmidt once a month sounds like more than "fine" to me lol.

Call me crazy but "once a month during big drops" sounds like a feature not a bug for Crunchyroll these days. I've had the same tier for three years and somehow my buffering happens right when the episode gets good, not during the opening credits like a decent service would do. You think they purposely sync the lag with the emotional moments or is that just my bad luck?

Has anyone tried switching to a different DNS server? @lucasschmidt mentioned server location issues and that actually helped me a ton with buffering. I just changed mine to Cloudflare and now my episodes load way smoother even during peak times.
