Vent: My Crunchyroll stream kept buffering at the best fight scene

I was watching the final episode of season 2 last night and it froze right when the main character landed the big hit. I spent 20 minutes resetting my router and switching to my phone hotspot before it finally worked. Has anyone else had Crunchyroll crap out at the worst possible moment?

Crunchyroll knows exactly when to buffer, it's like they time it with the climax on purpose.

Come on, is it really that big of a deal? You had to reset your router for 20 minutes and maybe wait a bit longer to see a fight scene land. It's an anime stream, not a life or death moment. People act like a five second buffer is the end of the world when there's free episodes and ads to deal with anyway. First world problems, man. Just grab a snack while it loads next time.

Hang on, I gotta push back on that a little though. You're saying it's just first world problems, but don't you think the bigger issue is that these companies are making billions off of subscriptions and still can't get the basics right? In my experience, when I'm paying $10-$15 a month for something, I kind of expect it to work without me having to plan snack breaks around loading screens. Your mileage may vary, but I've had Crunchyroll straight up crash on me right before a big reveal, not just buffer. And it's not like we're asking for 4K HDR perfection every second. We're asking for a stable stream on a show from 2012. That feels like a pretty low bar.
