Appreciation post: a 30 year tech said my dryer vent readings were lazy and he was spot on
Had a guy named Ray ride along with me in Columbus back in March and he watched me check a dryer vent with just my hand at the outside hood. He said "if you can't put a number on it, you're guessing," and handed me his manometer to test static pressure. Mine came back at .9 inches of water column when it should've been under .3, and I'd been calling that vent fine for two years. Now I test every dryer with a gauge and write the number on the ticket, and I've found 11 clogged vents since April. It takes 4 extra minutes and I've stopped getting callbacks about dryers not drying. Any of you keep a manometer on the truck, or am I late to this one?
