That is some next level problem solving. I would have just stood there staring at the frozen pipe and hoping it would thaw out, probably crying a little bit inside. Borrowing a hair dryer from a stranger is a galaxy brain move. If that happened to me, I'd probably end up using my own breath like a dumb cartoon character trying to fog up a window.

Hair dryer from a stranger is a solid idea, but it's a frozen pipe not a medical emergency. Grab some hot water and a towel, you'll be fine in five minutes. People act like winter is gonna end them.
