Can we talk about that customer in San Antonio who insisted I fix her fridge with duct tape?

She watched me replace the compressor fan motor and then said why couldn't I just wrap the broken blade in duct tape like her husband would have done, has anyone else dealt with a homeowner who thinks tape fixes everything?

Duct tape on a fridge fan blade is just asking for a fire.

My buddy tried that once but used electrical tape instead because he was out of duct tape. Said it worked fine for a week until the tape got warm and started slipping around. The fan made this weird grinding noise that sounded like a lawnmower trying to start. He ended up just buying a new fridge because the motor seized up and the repair cost more than a basic model from the scratch and dent store. Now he swears by using zip ties for any fan repairs, even though that sounds like its own kind of disaster waiting to happen.

My cousin zip tied a radiator hose on his truck once and it actually held for like two years until the whole thing rusted out. Did your buddy ever try that trick where you balance the blade with a penny taped to the back?
