Customer told me his 10 year old washing machine was fine until I touched it

Guy in Dayton swore up and down his ancient Maytag worked perfect before I swapped a $12 lid switch, then asked me why it started leaking on the very next cycle - has anyone else had a customer blame them for a preexisting problem that just happened to show up right after a repair?

Ten years old and he thinks you're the reason it broke down... that's some serious denial right there. He probably convinced himself it was perfect because he'd been ignoring a slow drip for months. People will go to crazy lengths to avoid admitting their own stuff is just old and worn out.

Ten years old" is practically ancient for a washing machine. Might've just got lucky timing with the leak.
