Discovered a 20 dollar part fixed a 600 dollar washer issue

My neighbor Deb was about to junk her 3 year old Samsung washer because it kept throwing an error code and stopping mid-cycle. She had a guy come out and quote her 600 bucks for a new control board. I told her to hold off and let me look at it first. Turned out the pressure switch hose had a tiny crack in it, just sucking air instead of building pressure. A 20 dollar replacement hose and 15 minutes of my time and the thing runs perfect now. She was ready to drop over a grand on a new machine for nothing. Has anyone else run into a stupid simple fix that saved a customer from buying a whole new appliance?

My own fridge repair history is basically a comedy of errors at this point.
