Finally gave those new digital manifold gauges a shot on a tricky fridge job

I was stuck on a Samsung with a weird pressure reading, and my old analog set just wasn't cutting it. The digital ones showed the superheat changing in real time, which pointed me straight to a restricted filter drier. Anyone else made the switch and found it helps with those intermittent cooling problems?

Superheat doesn't change in real time like that... it's a calculated value from your readings.

Oh wow, that's actually super helpful! I always pictured superheat like a live temperature gauge on my car. @lindal13 saying it's a calculated value from readings totally makes sense now. It's not like the number is jumping around every second. You have to take your suction line temp, check your pressure, and then do the math. That explains why my old boss always made us write things down first instead of just glancing at the meter.
