Guess I should feel proud of fixing other people's messes for a living, but somehow it just feels like I'm their adult babysitter with a wrench. Can't even brag at parties without someone handing me their broken toaster. Ever feel like your biggest achievement is just being a necessary evil?

Honestly you totally changed my mind with the "necessary evil" part. I used to think people who fix stuff for a living had it made, like you were the hero who saves the day every time. But now I get it, you're just the person everyone calls when they've already messed things up and want you to undo their mistakes without any credit for the real work. It must suck to be seen as a backup plan instead of a real pro, especially when you know you could be doing way more creative stuff if people didn't treat you like a toaster repair guy at parties.
