I was sure those new digital manifold gauges were just a gimmick for show, but after using my buddy's set on a tricky fridge compressor job in Akron last Thursday, I saw the exact pressure drop over 45 seconds that my analog gauges just couldn't show clearly.

Has anyone else made the switch and found a specific diagnostic situation where the digital readout made the actual difference in finding the fault?

My old analog set completely missed a 0.3 PSI flutter on a supermarket rack that only showed up on a digital graph. That tiny bounce was the only sign of a failing expansion valve solenoid. I would have spent hours looking for a leak that wasn't there.

Wow, that's wild. Makes you wonder what other tiny ghosts in the machine we've all walked right past.
