My $200 multi-meter misadventure, I should have stuck with my old one
Spent $200 on a fancy Fluke 117 last month and the auto-ranging is SO slow on refrigeration calls, I lost a whole afternoon in Phoenix chasing a ghost reading. My $40 Klein from 2019 still does the job better, has anyone else found newer meters worse for HVAC work?

Fluke's auto ranging isnt the issue, sounds like the leads or test mode.

Is it just me, or does everything new these days come packed with extra features nobody asked for while the basics get worse? My buddy's new fridge dings at him for leaving the door open too long, but the ice maker jams up monthly, and that kind of sums up tech lately. Sometimes the simple, broken-in tools just understand the job better than the shiny ones.
