My fridge repair last Tuesday taught me something about door switches
I was at a client's house in Phoenix swapping out a bad compressor on a Whirlpool side-by-side, and the whole thing took three hours longer because the door switch kept making the condenser fan stop when I closed the panel. Turns out the switch was grounding out on some melted wire insulation from a previous repair job, not the fan itself. Has anyone else run into weird ghost problems with door switches that seem like a bigger issue but are really just a wiring rub?

Ain't it always some melted wire hiding behind something simple?

Bet you had to pull half the wall apart to find it?

I started checking the easy spots first and saved myself some drywall repairs.
