Simple trick for old Whirlpool washing machines that actually works
Had a Whirlpool from 2010 that kept stopping mid-cycle with a lid lock error. Replaced the switch twice and it still did it. Tried cleaning the lid strike with a magic eraser and some rubbing alcohol on a whim. Fixed it. Has anyone else had luck just cleaning the contact points before swapping parts?

Dude seriously?? I had the exact same thing happen with my dryer like 3 months ago. It was taking forever to dry clothes and I was about to drop $300 on a new one. Then my buddy told me to just clean the metal contact points inside the start switch. I used some fine sandpaper and rubbing alcohol and now it fires up first try every single time. Such an easy fix that saved me a ton of cash.
