That $60 'universal' washing machine motor coupler kit was a joke

I bought a three pack of those universal motor coupler kits off Amazon for about sixty bucks, thinking I'd be smart and stock up. First one I put in a Whirlpool direct drive, it split after maybe 20 loads. The plastic part just gave up, no warning. Then I tried the second one on a Kenmore, same thing but it lasted a little longer, maybe 40 loads. The third one is sitting in my toolbox, I'm not even gonna bother. I ended up going back to the OEM coupler from the local supplier for like twelve bucks each, and those have held up for over a year now. Has anyone else had bad luck with those universal multi packs, or did I just get a bad brand?

Oh man I totally used to think those multipacks were the smart move too. Bought a 4 pack of generic washer couplers for like fifty bucks a couple years back, thought I was saving big. First one cracked in under two months on my old Whirlpool. Second one didn't even make it a month before the plastic teeth stripped out. After that I just tossed the rest in the trash and got an OEM one from the local parts house for fifteen bucks. That was over three years ago and it's still going strong. Never again with those cheap universal kits.

Sawed my thumb off trying to force one of those cheap plastic ones on, figured my blood was worth more than the $12 savings haha. Thanks @josephmartin for the painful backup proof.
