The belt tension gauge that ended my guessing game

I remember fighting a Samsung dryer that kept throwing the same E4 code back in 2017. I replaced the belt twice, checked the drum rollers, even swapped the motor on a hunch. Then an old timer at a parts counter in Sacramento told me to stop guessing and get a belt tension gauge. I dropped $150 on one that week, figured it was a waste for a tool I'd use once. Turns out the belt had the right look but the tension was way off, caused the drum to drag and trip the sensor. That gauge has saved me three other jobs since, probably paid for itself ten times over. Anyone else dropped cash on a specialty tool that felt overkill but became a regular in the bag?
