TIL a 3 second trick from a guy in Tulsa fixed a dryer that was squealing for 6 months
He just tilted the drum and spun it by hand to find the worn spot on the glide, which I never thought to do after 45 minutes of guessing last week. Anyone else got a quick check like that for front loaders?
Read somewhere that if a front loader is making noise you should check the drum with the belt off first. Spin it by hand and if it wobbles or grinds you know it's the bearings and not the belt. Saves you from buying a belt you didn't need. Might be worth looking up the spider arm too, those tend to crack on older machines and cause a similar noise.
