After 20 years of digging with a standard trowel I finally switched to a pointed Marshalltown and my wrist pain vanished within a week
Anyone else stick with a tool for way too long just because it was familiar, or am I the only one who resisted that upgrade for no good reason?

That sounds brutal man, sorry you had to deal with that for so long. Sometimes we just get so used to the pain we don't even realize how much a simple change can fix. Glad you finally made the switch though, that's a huge win.

It's wild how "getting used to it" can make you think the pain is just part of life.

wrist pain vanished" sounds like a miracle cure or something. I get that a different handle or shape can be more comfy, but a whole week to fix pain you had for 20 years? That's a bit much. Did you really have serious wrist pain or was it just a little sore from digging all day?
