Dropped $200 on a ground-penetrating radar rental to find old foundations on my property and got nothing but a bunch of rocks and buried trash, was I using it wrong or is that tech mostly hype for small-scale digs?
I spent a whole weekend scanning my backyard in Portland thinking I'd uncover some pioneer-era cellar but instead all I got was a reading for what turned out to be a rusted 1960s lawnmower blade and a cluster of river stones, has anyone else dumped serious cash into geophysical tools only to come up empty handed on a personal project?

Honestly that post kinda changed my mind about ground radar for small stuff.

Tbh ground radar is overkill for small residential jobs if you've got half a brain and call 811 first. Most DIY folks would be better off spending that money on a good probe rod and learning how to read basic utility markings. Ngl that post makes it sound like you can't do any digging without a hundred grand worth of equipment.

Watched a guy nearly dig up a neighbor's septic line once with that stuff.
