Found a burnt layer at a dig near my hometown and no one believes me about what it means
I was at a site outside Abilene last spring and pulled out a 3 inch chunk of fire cracked rock from a layer that should have been 2,000 years older than the pottery shards sitting right above it, and when I brought it up to the field director she just told me to bag it and move on, so now I want to know if anyone else has dealt with a supervisor brushing off a find that clearly messes with the timeline.
