Question about the 'Roman dodecahedron' theory after handling one
I spent 20 minutes in a museum case in Bonn last week staring at one of those Roman dodecahedra, and I used to think they were just ornate paperweights. But the wear patterns plus the way it fits in a hand, I'm now convinced they were surveying tools or knitting aids. Anyone else flip their stance after seeing one up close?

Wait till you actually hold one for 20 minutes and realize it's just a heavy hunk of bronze that doesn't do anything useful. People been arguing over these things for centuries and nobody's got a solid answer, so I wouldn't go flipping your stance over a museum visit just yet.
