Spent $300 on a ground penetrating radar rental to find a burial mound that turned out to be a 1950s trash pit
The university's old survey map was off by 40 feet and all I got was a bunch of rusted cans and a lesson in checking source dates first, has anyone else wasted money on outdated site records?

Funny how trusting old info is basically throwing money into a hole, whether it's maps or fashion advice from 2015.

Old info has a way of locking us into habits that feel safe but actually hold us back. Relying on outdated data is like refusing to update your phone's software until it stops working completely. Sometimes we need the discomfort of fresh info to shake loose from our own assumptions.

Exactly! I followed an old recipe from a 2014 blog post last week and it turned out gross because the ingredients have changed since then. @alicehernandez makes a good point about how that comfort zone just keeps us stuck in bad habits. Gotta toss that old data and look for something current instead.
