That time a random guy at the museum told me the pottery sherds I found were probably not old

I was digging in a field near my house in Ohio and found these little clay pieces with a weird pattern. Some older dude walking his dog stopped and said they looked like 20th century flower pot pieces, not anything ancient. I got mad and kept them anyway, then brought them to a local archaeologist last month. Turns out he was right, they were just broken patio pottery from the 1950s. Anyone else have a know-it-all who turned out to be spot on?

Always trust the grumpy old guy who knows dirt. He's usually right about dirt.

Lol yeah the "probably not old" part hit home. I've been that guy before too.

yeah man, i've been there too. it's that weird moment where you're like "wait, am i the old person now?" and you just gotta laugh it off. i remember once i called a song from like 2015 "new" and my cousin just stared at me like i had two heads. it's a wake up call for sure, but honestly, it's kinda funny when you think about it.
