Found out today that the average person spends 6 hours a week just deciding what to eat for dinner

Saw that stat in a food newsletter I skimmed over coffee this morning and it kind of blew my mind since I bet half of those hours are me staring at the fridge with the door open, anyone else feel like meal planning eats up way more time than the actual cooking?

Goodness, six hours a week? That seems awfully high. I know I spend my fair share of time standing in front of the pantry with the door open, but I figured it was more like maybe ten minutes of brain freeze, not a whole hour each day. I'll bet half that time is just me trying to remember what I have on hand versus what I'm in the mood for. It's funny how something so simple can eat up so much of your week without you even noticing.

@emma_dixon70 bet half that time is just negotiating with your partner.

My boyfriend and I literally have to schedule a five minute meeting every night just to agree on dinner. I swear the six hours stat is real because half of that is us going back and forth on pizza vs. nothing in the fridge. I started meal prepping on Sundays just to stop the daily back and forth. It saves time but honestly it makes eating feel like a chore instead of something fun. The actual cooking part is easy, it's the deciding that kills me.
