Had to choose between the bus or bike to work this morning in Portland
Picked the bike because traffic's been a mess lately but forgot my rain jacket and got soaked through. How do you guys decide when the weather's iffy?

Get a cheap dry bag for your backpack and stash a light rain jacket in there full time... that way even if you forget you still have one. I learned that the hard way too many times.

Buddy of mine swore by this trick until he left the whole bag at a friend's place after a party. Showed up for a dawn ride in a misty drizzle wearing nothing but a t-shirt. Ended up cutting the ride short and stopping at a gas station for one of those flimsy clear ponchos. Ripped it getting on his bike, didn't even make it two blocks before it was flapping around his handlebars. Took him twenty minutes to get home shivering and cussing the whole way.
