I smashed my running personal best this morning, and it's all because I focused on having fun instead of pushing too hard!

That idea of focusing on fun over pushing too hard is so real. I nailed my best 5k time last month just by treating it like a fun jog with music. Turns out relaxing a bit can really boost your performance.

Remember how my friend Sarah used to panic before every race? Last year she finally stopped checking her watch and just ran for the feel of it, and totally blew her old time away.

Yeah Vera's got a point about relaxing, but for me the big thing from what @dianaanderson said is Sarah tuning into how her body felt, not just trying to have fun. That's a different skill. It's about listening to your legs and your breathing, not just distracting yourself with music. When you do that, you stop fighting yourself and find a smoother, faster pace without even trying. It's not about fun, it's about paying close attention.
