PSA: Paid for a nice GPS watch but kept using my phone instead

I was between two options for tracking my runs last month. One was a Garmin watch for $250, and the other was just keeping my phone in an armband. I went with the watch because I thought it would be more accurate and easier to check. After three weeks, I realized I still grab my phone out of habit to see stats. The watch is sitting in a drawer now. Has anyone else wasted money on a gadget they barely use?

Stick the phone in a drawer for a week. Break the habit cold.

Garmin watches are kind of a different beast though. Once you actually get into the data, like seeing your heart rate zones or running dynamics, a phone can't really do that well. Took me a solid month to stop glancing at my phone too, but now I'd feel naked without the watch on a run. Maybe give it another week or two before you write it off completely, the habit breaking part is real.

Feel naked without it" - yep, that's the spot right there.
